Description

“'A story about a boy,a girl, another girl, some heroes, even more villains and a handful of martial artists thrown in for good measure. Follow Ryouga as he stumbles into a world of Super Human proportion. A Ranma X Teen Titans crossover, unlike any other.”

Plot

The Titans are fighting Cinderblock in China where they sort of meet Ryouga who gives them a hand in the fight. Now, the Ranma fans learn really fast that Cinderblock is a gigantic golem made out of stone and they know immediately what is coming. It is a hundred percent predictable but you are still looking forward to see how Ryouga going to dispose of the villain.

After having dealt with that enemy Ryouga finally arrives at Jusenkyo, a magical valley full with cursed springs where he (and many other characters of Ranma ½ ) got his curse. There he meets Jinx, Gizmo and Mammoth who are trying to steal some of the water at the orders of the Headmaster. Ryouga, not wanting anyone to have contact with that particular water fights them and defeats the group of villains. As the result of this battle three out of four of the fighters get (re)cursed.

Afterwards the villains flee, Ryouga and the Titans spend some time in the near Amazon village, repairing their ship and forming bonds with Ryouga. It is a nice period, full of humor, some great fights, light romance, training and character interaction capturing both, the Ranma and the Teen Titans humor perfectly.

So, when the repairs were complete and the Titans have left, Ryouga continues his travels when he meets the Headmaster who, having heard from Jinx, Gizmo and Mammoth about his fighting capabilities, takes over his mind, thus “enrolling” him in his school of villainy. Now, members of the HIVE academy kidnap (or try to kidnap) various (non)fighters of the Nerima cast.

The results are great, Kasumi, maybe the nicest person in literature, even as a villain is hilarious, Nabiki becomes even more of a criminal mastermind and other members like Happosai, Kuno and ultimately Ryouga make this extremely enjoyable. Later on the groups ultimately crash, resulting in awesome fights, even more so after Ranma and the fighters who managed to avoid capture arrive to free their friends and in Ranma’s case, to fight again.

It doesn’t end there, there is a sequel named “Dark Titans” which is even longer then the first story and maybe even better. This time it has several arcs, each arc having some of the characters as the centre, the first arc featuring Robin, Happosai and Red X with a surprise who is behind this costume. The second is called ”Big Trouble in Little Tokyo” and has Ranma, Ryu Kumon, Lightning and Thunder, Natsume and Kurumi (characters from Ranma OVA’s) and to some point Raven. It has the villain from the Teen Titans movie but it has a more mature approach and the arc is absolutely brilliant.

Following this comes the arc starring Cologne, Shampoo, Mousse, Jinx, Happosai and Lex Luthor, which ended with a gigantic cliffhanger leaving us to the next arc which now concentrates on the Titans, Ryouga and Kasumi trying to rescue a lost comrade.

Finally the Titans attempt to prevent Starfire from being married off while Blackfire makes a bid for the throne, Ryouga and Terra go camping, and Speedy learns the consequences of disrespecting others.

Notes

The series consists of two fics: The Titans and the Lost Boy, written from 2006-2007, and Dark Titans, started in 2007 and still being updated, with the most recent chapter being posted March 21, 2012.

This story takes off shortly after Book 33 of the Manga.

The Author uses the anime for story elements, characters and overall feats.
